Changes of rules concerning entering the UK from Ukraine

The UK government has released new guidance allowing easier access to people from Ukraine fleeing the Russian invasion. During such a terrible time, the UK government set out rules to allow thousands of Ukrainians to enter safety keeping themselves and their family safe. We understand that during such a hard time people may not know what to do; our solicitors can provide all individuals with free advice, no matter how complicated or simple the questions you have are, our lines are open.

From March 1st the Prime Minister has announced the expansion of the Ukrainian Humanitarian Route, allowing people to enter the UK more easily. British nationals and people settled in the UK are now entitled to bring their family to the UK, without salary requirements.

The government promised to make the process of application as quick as possible. Individuals are encouraged to submit an application, call the helpline and visit a visa application centre in a neighbouring country if it is possible.

A sponsored humanitarian route has also been announced for those who have no ties to the UK, with a humanitarian visa route, which allows sponsors to bring individuals here. People who want to sponsor individuals can be matched with Ukrainians fleeing the country.

Ukrainians who are currently residing in the UK will have their visa extended, and fees are waived allowing people to enter the UK most easily.

Pop up visa application centres have also been opened to help increase the capacity of quick and easy applications in neighbouring countries in Hungary, Poland and Moldova.
